Acclaimed
golf instructor Jimmy Day allows readers to glean from his wealth of knowledge
in his new book, How to Learn to Play Golf: A Lesson Plan Developed from Bedrock
Physical and Mechanical Certainties ($19.49, paperback, 9781545642900; $30.49,
hardback, 9781545642917; $9.99, e-book, 9781545642924).
Day insists that golf is a game for all people, of all ages
and skill levels. He claims the real
trick is to control the swing and forget about controlling the ball.
“How to
Learn to Play Golf provides the missing links, the what and how-to
information that clarifies the golfer’s Practice Purpose and enables a pathway
of fun, pleasure and success that both struggling beginners or recreational
golfers have envisioned,” said Day.
Jimmy Day earned
his BS in Business Management and Marketing through a four-year golf
scholarship to Louisiana State University.
Day has competed in the PGA tour and was a Class A member of the PGA of
America. He has served as a club
professional, an independent instructor and as construction-site manager for a
gated golf community. He was the 1997
Junior Golf Leader of the Gulf States Section of PGA of America and made 2002’s
list of the Top 200 Golf Instructors for the South Texas Section of PGA of
America. He is also the author of Boudreaux's Rules of Golf, a cartoon caricature of the Boudreaux family's recreational
enjoyment of the game of golf.
