Author Thom Koop shares the fictional story of an under-appreciated Bible character in Give Us Barabbas: A Redemption Story ($25.49 paperback, 9781631294600; $9.99 e-book, 9781631294617).

In this historical fiction novel, Koop invites readers into the world of Joshua, an Israelite born into an uncertain time.  He joins the Jewish Zealots and takes the name “Barabbas,” as well as a new lifestyle of thievery and political resistance.

“Arrested in an uprising gone wrong, Barabbas is imprisoned, awaiting death by crucifixion. But then, brought before Pontius Pilate during the sham trial of another – one known as Jesus of Nazareth – he is somehow granted freedom and the other is crucified. This one brief encounter changed everything!” said Koop.

Having achieved three academic degrees in theology, Thom Koop's profoundest pursuit has always been relationship with his heavenly Father. Pastoring churches, teaching Bible School, leading mission trips and working other jobs, his greatest "work" was that of shepherding his own family. Thom enjoys reading, writing and working on cars, but revels in his children, grandchildren and wandering the world with his wife.
