Author Anna Gomez-Rodgers offers a story of hope and the gift of life in A Second Chance at Life ($15.99, paperback, 9781631295256; $7.99, e-book, 9781631295263).

Gomez-Rodgers tells the fictional tale of Monica, a young woman who struggles with her emotions toward her alcoholic father.  She feels his absence, in spite of the efforts of her mother and stepfather to fill the void in her life.  She falls into the wrong crowd and follows in her father’s footsteps.  When her kidneys suffer as a result, how can this broken life be redeemed?

I did a lot of research on kidney failure and donation. I hope to make people more aware of the need for organ donation, said Gomez-Rodgers.

Anna Gomez-Rodgers was inspired by her sixth grade teacher who told her mother, “I look forward to reading one of Anna’s books one day.” Being a full-time nurse gives her many opportunities to pray and share Christ’s love with others. She is looking forward to retirement so she can devote more time to writing and her other hobbies, including singing, gardening and camping.
