Author Grace Burke shares her experience with abuse and her hope for redemption in Officer’s Wife Down ($14.49, paperback, 9781631297670; $6.99, e-book, 9781631297687).

Burke suffered a variety of physical and psychological abuses from her husband, a police captain to whom she was married for 12 years.  There was a constant, murderous threat in his “psycho riddles,” leaving Burke and her children with many dark memories.  In this memoir, she introduces readers to the invincible man who rescued her.

“I want readers to know that God is a kind and loving God and He will protect you in all situations, even when your very life is at stake. There is a way out of these relationships,” said Burke.

Grace Burke married for the first time at the age of seventeen.  Six years and two daughters later, that marriage came to an end, paving the way for the next one.  This time she married a police captain who abused and tormented her.  Burke eventually found her way out of that relationship and currently lives with her third husband.  All five of her children are grown with families of their own.
