Author Alan H. Ritson shares his experiences working with The Salvation Army during the 9/11 tragedy in Someone Cares ($15.49, paperback, 9781631296918; $7.99, e-book, 9781631296925).

Ritson believes in God’s leadership, and in the angels He occasionally sends to care for His children.  He shares many anecdotes of angelic experiences that kept him on the right path through life, much of which he spent working with The Salvation Army.  He was the Director of Disaster Services of their Texas Division when he was dispatched to assist with relief efforts in New York City in 2001.

With humor, honesty, and insight about an organization some readers may not know much about, this book also serves as a reminder that not only is God present in every life event, big or small, but his guidance is as well.” said Ritson.

As a life-long Salvationist, Alan Ritson's passion for serving those in need evolved into a career that answered God's call. Ritson served in many different programs for The Salvation Army before becoming the Director of Disaster Services, first, in Washington D.C., then in the Texas Division.

He also enjoys music, and traveled the world with the Salvation Army National Capital Band.
