Authors Lawrence A. Saunders, TM and June Tyson, PhD offer a practical guide to observing the biblical Sabbath through The Savviness to Understanding and Embracing the Sabbath: A Journey from Sunday to Saturday ($14.49, paperback, 9781645678435; $6.99, e-book, 9781545678442).

Among the diverse views of Sabbath vs. no-Sabbath, Saunders and Tyson hope to bring some clarity.  Long-term church goers themselves, they offer both spiritual and practical reasons behind a day of rest each week, and an approachable plan for incorporating it.

“This book is an excellent guide on how to honor the Sabbath in such a spiritual, yet simplistic way that anyone can apply and live by,” said Tyson.

Lawrence A. Saunders is the Pastor of Word for Life Christian Church, which he planted in 2002 in his hometown of Brooklyn, New York. Saunders earned a Master’s degree in Theology (Th.M.) and also a Bachelors in Public Administration.

Dr. June Tyson is a License Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-R) and a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers, (ACSW). She practices psychotherapy at Community Counselling and Mediation (CCM) in Brooklyn. Her MSW is from Fordham University and her PhD is in Human Services from Capella University.
