Author Max Rabalais shares a story of both disappointment and hope in Broken Trust, Tender Mercy: When discernment is disguised by our own understanding ($13.49, paperback, 9781632219398; $6.99, e-book, 9781632219404).

When Allen Stanley met Ellen, he thought his new path was set.  He took the mistakes of his past and re-directed them build the American Dream.  After an unexpected turn in the road, however, his poor decisions set him back on the wrong road.

Sometimes we blame God and people for circumstances in life, only to find they were on our side all along. God never promised life would always be easy; he did promise he would never leave us,” said Rabalais.

Max Rabalais is a retired welding technician for Lockheed Martin at NASA, where he worked on the external space shuttle fuel tank. He has been happily married to his wife Sandra for 32 years. They have one daughter, Kelly, a son Johnny, and two grandchildren. Max has been leading substance abuse support groups throughout Louisiana and Mississippi for 15 years and has helped place people into free, Christian-based rehab centers.
