Author Michael S. Hall challenges readers to see beyond the financial aspects of stewardship in A Stewardship Journey: Starting a Three-Year Strategic Foundational Plan to Become the Best We Can Be for Ourselves and Our Parishes ($28.99, paperback, 9781662835575; $9.99, e-book, 9781662835582).

Hall provides an enlightening exploration into stewardship that is not associated with money. Instead, he thoroughly explains the role of a steward, a person who cares for or manages the affairs of someone else, in this case, those who represent God. Hall’s perspective is that a steward is called to manage God’s creation through what is written in the Bible. In other words, stewards will spread heartfelt spirituality to all parishioners in order to fulfill God’s promise of salvation to the world.

The author wrote this book for priests, pastors, and lay ministry leaders desiring to move their status-quo/maintenance parishes into bold, dynamic mission-oriented/evangelical parishes for the Lord, by increasing their parishioner's time, talents, and treasure.

“By sharing my own stewardship journey, I’ve tried to take the ‘hard’ part of stewardship out of the equation, by revealing to you the ‘heart’ plans and tools used at my parish,” said Hall.

Michael S. Hall has had a passion for writing since he was 14 years old. His first book, In Search of My Orange-Colored Sky, was a collection of poetry written during high school and college. The real literary calling came in early 2020 as God revealed his next book to him in a dream. Six months later and 20-years after his first book, A Stewardship Journey, was written.

Born in Germany, Hall is the second of three generations who served in the U.S. Air Force. He is a graduate of Troy State University and the University of the Philippines. Residents of Corona, CA, Hall, his wife, Edna, and their two daughters are parishioners of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church. He is a 30-year member of the Knights of Columbus, having served in various leadership positions, as well as being an usher, parish council member, and a stewardship director. Hall enjoys writing, cooking, and landscape planning and design.
