Baker defines the title of his book, “Delilah's Lap,” as a place and position people put themselves in when they go against the will of God. He stresses to readers that oftentimes, they will find themselves in the hands of the enemy, that tries everything he can do to force a believer away from God. This book reveals how the pain and hardship of Delilah's Lap can ultimately redirect a person back to God.
“I was inspired to write this book by the personal experience of what it is like to put yourself in a position that only God can get you out of,” said Baker. “Similar to Samson, these experiences were tragic and freighting. Still, I can honestly say what David said, ‘it is good that I was afflicted.’”
Terrance D. Baker was born in Franklin, VA. He was raised by his grandmother who taught the discipline and faith of walking with Christ; and his mother who taught and displayed studying and knowing the Word for yourself. Baker, along with his wife of 19 years, have 3 adult children and 6 grandchildren. He considers himself blessed to have worked with ministries, including a men's ministry called FMO and a marriage ministry with his wife called, Intentionally Married. Baker enjoys spending time and praying with his children and grandchildren, in addition to singing, writing plays, and lifting weights.
