Author Wayman Jackson penned another compelling Christian fictional story in his series entitled The Sword of the Spirit: In the Shadow of Death ($16.99, paperback, 9781662835148; $7.99, e-book, 9781662835155).

Jackson takes readers on an action-packed adventure when Satan sends the Spirit of Death on a mission to kill Spirit Warrior, Hezekiah. The devil visits heaven and asks for permission to slay Hezekiah, but God provides an unclear response. Lucifer then asks for Faith Parker’s life instead. God agrees and Satan immediately searches for Death to plot Faith’s final days. In a sudden twist, Hezekiah and Faith are falling in love and everything is going well until an attempt is made on her life. A mysterious sickness suddenly breaks out in town and no one can stop it. As the Spirit of Death unleashes his power over the metropolis, can Hezekiah save Central City from devastation and save Faith from the Shadow of Death?

“What inspired me to write the Sword of the Spirit series was the bible scripture in Ephesians 6:11-17 about the full armor of God,” said Jackson. “At first, I was working on another project entirely; until God interrupted it by bringing the idea of the sword of the spirit into the forefront. The idea behind this work is to explain spiritual warfare in an easy way.”

Wayman Jackson attended Georgia State University for a few years to become a graphic artist. He’s a martial artist, a taekwondo instructor, and a vocalist. Jackson is currently working on his fourth degree black belt. His knowledge of martial arts helps him write realistic scenes in his work. He enjoys reading 'how to' books to help sharpen his writing skills.

Jackson has followed Christ for more than twenty years. He was born again as a teenager and his life improved. Before Christ, Jackson dealt with depression, anger, and low self-esteem. After receiving Christ, he felt like “the slate was wiped clean” for the many sins he had previously committed. He states that his depression disappeared because of the newfound hope in his heart. His anger also vanished because he could then easily forgive people because he, too, had been forgiven. His low self-esteem was replaced with joy because he accepted that God loved him and he was on his way to heaven. Jackson enjoys using his creative talents to win as many souls for Christ as possible. He wants Jesus to save other people through his work like Jesus saved him.
