Authors Eugenia Eberle and Nina Collins have joined forces to tell ten true stories about animals in Vignettes from the Lovely House ($12.49, paperback, 9781662826283; $23.49, hard cover, 9781662839962; $5.99, e-book, 9781662826290).

 

Eberle said she was inspired by “an invasion by an army of ants into our kitchen, which induced me to think about all the actual experiences we have had over many years with animals.”

 

Eugenia Eberle is a published author of poetry and prose, including American Pye, Autobiography of a Cat. She has also written a film script called The Birthday, and a book of folk and fairy tales of Saudi Arabia, illustrated by the Welsh artist, Helga Prosser. Eugenia married Charles Eberle in 1955, a Penn medical student who took her to San Francisco for his residency in orthopedics. They have four children, four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. They currently live in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Nina Collins was born in 1933 and raised in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania She was awarded a four-year scholarship to the Moore Institute of Art in Philadelphia. She married Bill Collins, an automotive engineer, who took her to Detroit, Michigan in 1954.
