Author Dorice Woodruff inspires readers to act Christ-like outside of church boundaries in Playground Personalities: At Play, At Work?  ($15.49, paperback, 9781662837609; $6.99, e-book, 9781662837616).

Woodruff wants readers to understand that ministry goes far beyond the four walls of the church. Christians should be an example of Christ even in the workplace. She encourages readers to lead people to Christ and help them heal even outside of the church. The author cleverly contrasts the behaviors one might see in a child to unacceptable behaviors often practiced by adults. She attributes child-like behaviors in adults to past challenges with trauma, rejection, and other negative traits that were not confronted or resolved as children. The adult then carries the negative behaviors into the workplace. This book will liberate readers who have sadly and repeatedly witnessed coworkers or management acting less adultlike than one would expect. Woodruff gives clarity to a widespread topic that is not often discussed or explained.

Playground Personalities was inspired through pain,” said Woodruff. “I once heard that you will find your purpose in your passion and your pain. My passion and pain intersected in the workplace. Year over year, workplace after workplace, I observed adults behaving as children in the workplace.”
