Dickinson shares well-written, real life short stories designed to provoke thoughts for everyday living both within and outside the faith community. The author addresses how a pandemic, racial strife, and controversial politics have revealed the shortcomings of Christianity. His view of present world situations may differ from the way readers currently view their life, faith, and Christianity but that’s what makes his stories so interesting. And while his compelling writing is targeted for multi-cultural Christians with issues that often confuse faith and social standards, Dickinson’s book can also inspire anyone currently questioning their faith and critical of the lack of Christ-like actions from the Christian community.
When asked to describe what inspired him to write this book, Dickinson explains, “When George Floyd was murdered Memorial Day weekend in 2020, I had had enough. Between the Covid-19 pandemic, a divisive presidential election, and now the murder of a Black man by a policeman, I knew I had to step away for a while. The world was coming apart, but I knew God’s hand and plan were out there somewhere …. if I could simply be still enough to listen and understand it.”
Bob Dickinson has spent his entire career in the sports, television, and entertainment business. He currently runs Dickinson Partners Group (DPG) and is executive director of STEAM Sports Foundation. While DPG focuses on assisting sports and entertainment startups in the areas of launch strategies, marketing, customer acquisition and financial procurement, the foundation conducts summits and career conferences in an effort to raise scholarship funds for tomorrow’s future workforce. The firm is committed to advocacy programs for equity, social change, and racial justice. Dickinson’s background includes college athletics, the NFL, Turner Broadcasting, the Olympics, and motorsports. He sits on the board of Young Authors Publishing, Bridging the Gap Men’s Fellowship, and Raion Footwear. In 2020-21, he authored the Jeremiah James weekly blog and periodically contributed to Like the Dew: A Journal of Progressive Southern Culture and Politics. He enjoys reading, writing, running, cooking, and theater. Dickinson and his wife live in the greater Atlanta area. He is currently working on a book of political allegory short stories and a play.
