Writing as a survivor of clergy sexual abuse (CSA), Merritt helps others understand how abusers trap the vulnerable into emotional prisons just as effective as those made of concrete and steel. As she shares her personal testimony, she also answers common questions about CSA, such as why victims comply with their abusers and the tactics used to manipulate them.
Merritt said she wrote out of “a desire to offer hope and healing to women abused by clergy, and to educate people regarding the ‘grooming’ tactics of abusive clergy, and why vulnerable women are incapable of protecting themselves.”
Author Linda Merritt is a survivor of adult clergy sexual abuse (CSA), and a public speaker anxious to educate others regarding CSA. A former nurse (LPN), she is now an ordained minister offering hope and healing to victims of CSA.
