Author Jamie Stewart shares her impactful and inspirational story of bereavement in Walk With Me: A Journey of Infant Loss, Grief & Hope ($19.99, paperback, 9781662854002; $9.99, e-book, 9781662854019).

Jamie Stewart knows what it feels like to grieve a child. In 2012, she lost her son after birth. In this book, she holds absolutely nothing back in order to help others navigate their loss journey. Readers who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss, or anyone who is part of their support team, will benefit from reading this book. Through her thought-provoking words, she extends her arm to hold hands with those who are navigating the seemingly uncharted road of child loss. This book will affirm the many challenges loss-parents face, clarify what loss-parents need and not need, and deconstruct the backward way that today’s culture handles this type of grief. Stewart describes her book as a story not only about love but about loss and hope in Christ, even when one’s heart is in the deepest and darkest pits of grief.

My inspiration for this book was the loss of my son an hour after birth back in 2012,” said Stewart. I found myself in a world I no longer understood, and more importantly, in a world that no longer understood me. My book’s intent is to openly share the struggles of losing a child for the sake of bereaved parents, and also provide guidance/help for those who are watching someone they love endure such a loss.”

Jamie Stewart, the youngest of three children, was raised in a loving Christian home in the beautiful state of Colorado. Since 2012, Stewart has been married to her wonderful husband, Andy, and together they have three beautiful children: their firstborn, Logan, his little brother, Sullivan, and their youngest, Emersyn Grace. Her children are the best gifts she has ever been given and being their mom is her greatest title. It is the most beautifully challenging thing she has ever experienced but by far the most rewarding. Stewart has followed Christ as long as she can remember, and she strives every day to be more and more like Him. He is her Creator, her Savior and hands down, her foundation. Stewart is cofounder and director of the nonprofit, Walk With Me, devoting time and resources to help families through the death of a baby in utero or shortly after birth. It is undoubtedly not a ministry she would have ever dreamed of being a part of but something she feels called to do. While her family is and always will be her greatest delight, Stewart also enjoys good coffee, good food, good movies, spring skiing and warm summer days. She also loves watching big thunderstorms with her husband and dancing in the rain with her children.
